Mary's Rock Sunset

Join the GMP for a hike up Mary's Rock. It is one of high points in the Shenandoah National Park and you will have some great views from there. It will be steep up to the summit.

This is a sunset hike, so we will take the shortcut to the summit. You will need a headlamp/flashlight or you could use your smartphone's flashlight.

TRAIL: 1.8 miles (parking lot to the summit) It should take us about 1 hr 30 min to the summit (3,514 ft). We will gain 1,210 ft of elevation. This hike is short but strenuous.

Join the Green Mountain People (Census Outdoor Club) as we take a one hour relaxed Western-style trail ride over the rolling hills and through the shady woods of Clinton, MD. ***No experience necessary***

When: Sunday June 4 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 pm. Participants will need to arrive at the stable by 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $50 cash only + optional tip if you want to for trail hand

Attire: Long Pants, Shoes with a heel, helmet (optional -- bike helmets okay)

It's time for the annual Green Mountain People canoe trip! You are cordially invited to join us for a fun-filled ride down the Shenandoah River, complete with a mid-point lunch stop and all-you-can-eat steak dinner afterwards. This trip is great for beginning canoers, families (kids must be 8 to paddle), and anyone looking to have a great time!

Join GMP for a kayaking at Potomac River.

We will rent a kayak at the Thompson Boat Center in DC. We will be on the river for about 90mins. The info for the location and the rental cost are below.
